Office of the CAO

The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is appointed by Council. It is the CAO’s role to assist Council in setting the direction of the Town by providing guidance and advice based on best practices and emerging trends in municipal government. He works closely with his counterparts in other municipalities, as well as with both Federal and Provincial government officials on a variety of issues affecting the Town of Digby.

The CAO directs and co-ordinates the general management of the business affairs of the Town, in accordance with the by-laws, policies and plans approved by Council, to ensure the delivery of quality services and facilities.

The CAO is responsible to ensure that programs and services are developed and implemented to meet the ever changing needs of the community, while ensuring fiscal responsibility.

 

About Leslie Brinton

Leslie Brinton is the Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Digby, bringing 16 years of experience with the organization and a strong commitment to the community.Leslie began her career with the Town as an Accounts Payable Clerk and has since served as Executive Assistant and Deputy CAO before assuming the role of CAO.She is proud to continue serving the Town of Digby and looks forward to working with Council, staff, residents, businesses, and community partners to support a strong and vibrant community.
